Calgary MP5ers?

No, it won't get dirtier--the filter is protected by the plastic inner wheel well.
And you don't need to take of the bumper. There are four or five hex nuts holding the plastic piece in place. Remove them and voila!, access to the inner fender area.

Hey btw, thanks for all the help everyones been giving. Helping me get up to speed on this stuff real quick.
One last question for ya though.
With the CAI since its protected by the inner wheel well, does that mean its also protected from the slush that gets tossed up by your tires? Just wondering about the chances of the filter getting a nice coating of frost on the outside of it in the winter. Doesnt sound like its much, and I imagine that its still close enough to the engine that its getting some warmth.
I have heated parking at home, just wondering for when I take off to the store for something.

lol true enough. Alright Kargo mark me down for the twin charger CAI. It will be fun digging around inside. Oh, and if possible could I get it with the blue piping?

You could get it powdercoated, though...
I'll add you to the group buy. How do you want to pay...paypal is best but I can also take credit cards or a money order.

Hey Mutt. The guys are right. When it comes to aftermarket mods, the Internet is the best place to get them. You can go through Speedtech in the north, but it takes them some time to get parts if they have to order them. They've done some really nice work to Proteges. There's a write up on the back wall of a Pro 5 they did for a local that's just wild. If you need genuine Mazda parts, I have a friend that works at Kramer Mazda by South Centre Mall that I can probably get you a deal with. Welcome to life with a Protege!!

Sorry, I'm still pretty upset about it.

He works in the parts department. He's a really good guy. Was a good customer of mine back in the A&B days. I don't know any of the other staff. I don't talk to anyone but my friend.
Quick question, why did you buy the Pro 5 if you are planning on putting a deposit on a Speed 3? Isn't it going to be released in western Canada in a few months?

Yep, but there are a few reasons for my decision.
1. The Escort was dying, I didn't know when it was going to kick the bucket and the stress was too much. I needed a new vehicle.
2. The first batch of Speed3's (At least the ones coming to Western Canada) are the red colour that I absolutely despise.
3. The car comes in about November and I've never driven a forced induction vehicle. As much confidence as I have in my driving, I don't want to start driving a brand new vehicle in winter. Especially one with far more power than anything I've ever owned.
4. I have more time to save money :P

You could shop online, but I like finding a small shop, and doing all my business there. Aero Car Parts in Edmonton keeps giving me great deals, because I keep going back (MP3/MazdaSpeed Spoiler for $150).
That's just my advice, you might be able to do better with an online store.
