if you're interested in looks, the silverstars won't be the "whitest" or the bluest of the bunch. you will notice a difference once you install them vs. your stock bulbs. but if you want something you can show off, just get some piaa or something. bestbuy sells some really blue-looking bulbs for $30

My Osram Silverstars look a helluva lot whiter and brighter than the 3 sets of PIAA bulbs that i've had on my cars. Also, less expensive.

You guys seem to be on the right track. After my Eurolite's blew out at 3 months, I installed the Sylvania CB's (Cool Blue) and I must say that I'm not impressed at all. Word to the wise, don't waste the $$$ on the CB's

I have the OSRAM silverstars for the past while now. Forgot how long, over 6 months I believe. They're much brighter than the stocks and a lil whiter.

The Sylvania Silverstars are less bright but are more white. Choose the style you like, but both are reputable.

Just replaced high beam and low beam

Just replaced high beam (9005ST) and low beam (H7ST)

They are whiter and brighter than stock when comparing to FOG LIGHTS.

I have to get FOG LIGHTS yet. (H3ST)

Waiting for them to release Turn signal (1157AST).

REMEMBER to save stock bulbs, just in case.

Osram vs. Sylvania

IMO the Silverstars are the best bulbs you can buy if you are interested in light output as opposed to appearance. The Osram Silverstars are E-spec bulbs and therefore do not have the blue coating applied to the Sylvanias, giving the Osrams greater light output.

As mentioned above, you can obtain the Osrams from: www.powerbulbs.com

They have good service and fast shipping.

Not sure about the Sylvanias on Mazdas but seen it on a few other cars and they are rated good.

But personally I use brand new EuroDezign's 6000K Xenon/Krypton series lights over the 5200k ones, absolutely stunning.. for my eyes and the eyes of the deer up ahead. I will be getting my Kodak digital camera back, but in the mean time I ran downstairs to my garage and put in my one of my old stock bulbs in for a minute to compare against the wall, it really won't show you guys much detail in the color depth/brightness but its something to look at.

I will get my Kodak back tomorrow to take 3.5 Megapixel shots
the webcame is .5MPixels :S

Sorry the hood of my car was up kinda blocking the comparison... I will do it again at night against a building wall. Those are always the true tests. Distance

Lastly if you can afford it the better product would be to go with the TRUE H.I.D. Kit / Technology, for durability / light performance.

One more thing, if your looking for the EuroDesign's 6000k series of bulbs you may have to search alot, they just released them I beleive I don't even see it on there website, but i will take a picture of the case so you can see, I just put my stock ones in there for safe keeping.http://kevante.redirectme.net/image6.jpg

I couldn't see shyt in the rain with Sylvania Stars, so I tried Osram Stars... eeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaa. Much better, at least there less of that glare on the road. Plus, there was some group buy going on @ powerbulbs.com. (10% off plus free w5w). do the search on this forum.

Redfyre November-20th-2003 07:23 AM

So... I'm interested in the Silverstars too. But I have one question, how long can I expect them to last? Has anyone had them for over a year?

ms21 November-20th-2003 10:19 AM

I have them for high/low beams on my truck. They have lasted over a year so far..... can't beat them for the price!
