Another newbie with a NEW ES!

Just traded in my beat up '95 DX for a brand new '02 ES 5spd. It was one of the few '02's left at the dealer but it has the '03 style rims......must have been late production. My '95 was bought used with high miles from a wholesaler cheap but power steering rack went, idle was rough after trying everything, and body/interior had plenty of dings so I dumped it with 72K miles.

I also had a '93 DX that I bought new and that took me to 130k miles before I sold it...just got bored with the same car after 8 years.

So now I got the new ES and I love this car. Sure it could use a few more horses maybe but it flies compared to the '95 1.5L and it's so smooth and a blast to drive. Suspension is awesome....this car inspires so much confidence with it's incredible reflexes. I have much more fun driving it than I do my '92 Mustang GT or practically anything else I've ever driven. Now if I could just get someone to buy the Mustang.....
Only mods planned for the ES are window tints and that's it. I love this car just the way it is!

You say you are going to keep it stock but there is just too much good stuff to pass it by. Also good choice in color, I got the same exact car and have gotten many complements about the color.

Maybe when the warranty is over I'll look into some mods but I'm no longer the speed freak I used to be......I can easily cruise at 75-80 with the ES stock which is good enough for me.

I didn't have a choice with the color actually. There were 2 '02s left on the lot and both were the same sand metallic but I do really like the color.....it never shows dirt.

Well I've had no takers yet and have it on cars.com and autotrader but have had some bites. I think I may put it on Ebay next. It's only got 22,800 all orig miles. It looks great but it's a freakin' dinosaur compared to the Mazda. I could drive the Protege all day. After an hour in the Mustang, I've had enough.

The 2002.5's (Protege's built after Feb. 02) have the same wheels as the 2003's. So there's your explanation .

Congrats on the car!

$11,500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its rather very obvious why you dont have any bites. Come down off that price to somewhere close to what the car is actually worth and you might actually sell it.

The car is practically brand new. I know what the blue book is but that's a joke as I've seen how much 5.0s are going for with low miles and I don't think my price is unreasonable.

Hey, a car is worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it.

Get it if you can, but dont expect to sell fast. If your looking to sell it soon, I would would suggest you lower your price quite a lot.

I just sold my heavily moddified 93 GT for $6,000.

It wasnt as clean as yours, almost, but not quite, but had more money than your asking put into it in mods, and done right.

People are asking $10k and up for these cars, but their not getting it. People who want to move them ask less.

good luck

Pardon?? Who is that directed to? In case I have to spell it out to you... that mustang made me blow a load!! And the word "Beautiful" refers to a feeling of joy and praise!! I'm assuming you mis-read my post!

Yeah I think your post was just misread. It looked like you were saying that Mustangs suck by jerking off but whatever....I knew you meant the opposite. Well I got the car listed on Ebay now and still have some local bites. Yes it is a good looking ride but beauty is skin deep.

The Protege, HP withstanding, is so much more in touch with the road and is more athletic. The 'Stang is really just a big brute that tugs you around with it's huge engine....it gets tiresome after awhile. The Protege is a much easier car to live with everyday too.

I've always loved the '92!! I've had my eye on them for some time now... The price you're asking... It's fair!! That's the mintest '92 I've ever seen!! I love how you've left it mainly stock!! If I had the dough, I wouldn't think twice about picking that beauty up!!!
