I paid 17,300$ for mine, completely maxed out on every option. I do like the look of the wind deflector, and it makes the car look like it has a ton of stuff on it. I would guess that it does reduce road noise too, which isn't too big of a deal to me in the first place. But it's there. That, and I have long hair and it's annoying when you're trying to accelerate on this really great road and your hair is in your face . I have a pre-February model, and now that I hear they removed the cup holder cover I'm happy. That was one little tiny refinement that I really liked. It makes the interior look a little bit cleaner and to be honest, I'd rather have that than some 5$ stock speakers. The pre-February ones have the grill and setup for two speakers in the rear doors, but there's no speakers in there. Honestly, I could care less. I'm going to replace the stock system anyways. I should also add mine is very similar but it's the sedan. Silver as well. Nothing too obnoxious (eg. yellow... blech... almost as bad as green :x).

Josh,
If you get the run around from the dealer in getting your car in....you might try CarsDirect.com.....I did that to get my P5 and it arrived much earlier than the local dealers had predicted. And I haven't looked lately, but the CarsDirect price came to be below invoice.

Well, I picked it up last Wednesday night with only TWO miles on the odo! It's great, I've been driving it nonstop -- 198 miles and counting! I'm trying to keep it under 3500 rpm for now. Tomorrow I'm going to take it on the interstate and get up to about 70 mph.

The dealer I went to -- Gunther Mazda in Ft. Lauderdale -- did a really great job getting the car and responding ASAP to all of my questions via email, and the salesman was great. However the finance guy I did not like. He explained nothing, rushed me, and only looking at the fineprint now I see a Cash price listed for a little more than I thought I was paying for. However I'm purposefully not letting myself get upset since I know it'll ruin the experience. I like the car too much. I think it's better to just let it go and enjoy the car. I will write a brief letter explaining how pleased I was with their email guy, salesman, and how I think the finance experience could be improved for others. I knew something like this would happen since this is the first car I've ever bought.

I ended-up getting:
silver
manual
ABS w/side airbags
moonroof
moonroof deflector
alarm
floormats
wheel locks
for a total of 19,033.52. I was surprised how much the taxes were.

I like the statement on the finance agreement saying "Amounts paid on your behalf (Seller may be retaining a portion of these amounts) To Public Officials".

Playing around with carsdirect I see my zip code has a lot to do with sales price, so I guess I chose the wrong place to live.

There's a Mazda dealer MUCH closer to where I live, so I'll give them a shot for my free 3500 mile checkup.

Thanks for all of the great advice and help!
Josh

Hmmz....free 3500 mile checkup?
Is that something we all get and I am not aware of....or something your dealer threw in?

I assumed it was something everyone got, the sales guy never mentioned it was thrown in for me or part of a dealership thing...
