my bad on the S2000 torque, i wasn't sure of its torque, i just know its not anything near its HP. There is no replacement for displacement. Put boost on a v-8 and v-10 and see what happens.

Not a problem...

If you show me a pull of a cat-back adding 12whp on an FS, I will shine your shoes...

I would agree in the unlikelyness of this. unless the car was turboed.

You would need an intake, header and cat back to get 12 whp.

THe exhaust is a thermal R&D. It was on a turbo car so that was my mistake. I will shut up now and leave

Walight,

Don't link to pics on your hard drive. None of us can see them.

Id rather have the top speed of cars at 105 and have the 0-60 knocked off a full second then have the top end go higher .

Wouldnt you ??

I mean how often do we go above that , except for a few times on highway.

The speed limit is 70 most areas so id rather have the gearing to reach 60 quicker.

Top Speed.

Don't get me wrong. I own a silver 2002 P5. I love the car, but I think it really isn't the car to tune to go fast. I'm debating a turbo kit, but at just under 200 whp it just doesn't seem to be enough. My 2000 Jetta reaches speeds of 170+mph all the time.. No issues. Talk about stable at speed.

EXCUSE ME?

okay edwin....I have never claimed to be the "sharpest knife in the drawer" but.....please explain to me how your statement is correct?

if you deck your head you will DECREASE the volume of the combustion chamber....ever so slightly...but decrease it none the less....THUS on the compression stroke you SQUISH the air/fuel MORE, thus increasing the compression ratio, not decreasing it.

Maybe I shouldn't say all the time.. How about "at will" Which is more often than it should be I guess all I'm trying to say is that the P5 is a great car. Handeling stock is wonderful. However I just don't think the engine is best for tuning.

Flycutting gives you more compression not less

Turboniem, is your jetta an auto or is 5th just really long? A MT P5 at 170 would be around 9000 rpm, that would be an issue for any compact's engine, not just an FS. If you have a VR6 five speed and your gearing is similar, I might be a little skepticle

My friend is a huge V-dub nut. Out of curiosity what have you done to it?

My Other Silver Car.

Garett GT25R Turbo / Injectors / Fuel Pump.. aka APR Stage 3
6 Speed Tranny Conversion - VW Motorsport (top speed 180 @ 74k RPM)
HR CoilOvers
AP Racing 330mmx28mm front brakes
other misc suspension and bushing mods.

Dynoed 150 stock.. 180 with chip, 315 with new turbo all wheel horsepower..

I bought my P5 just about 2 months ago. And I must admit I was excited to start tuning it this winter.. but really, I'm scared to push that much power thru it. and driveability issues with a turbo kit that does not have custom ECU programming.
