what do you think about...

my future/hopeful modifications:

4.10 final gear
10:1 comp pistons
catback exhaust
4-2-1 header
no cats (or maybe 1?)
mattys new intake manifold

trying to stay NA. i know its going to be kind of expensive, and i know gas is going to suck, but hey, its not gonna go down anytime soon, eh?

how much hp do you think im looking at?

EDIT: add port and polish, bigger valves, mp3 ecu

you do know that the stock final drive is 4.22 already?

with no ems you're looking at about 130whp or so....I haven't tested my intake manifold yet so I dont know what to expect.

Well I can tell you what I have planed. I already have some of it.

Parts already on
MP3 ecu, cai, header, 9lbs F/W, R/B axel back.

Parts to buy.
Mazda Speed Cams (not the MSP cams), MP3 intake or Mattys if it works, Port Polish the head and intake and port the head to match both the intake and exhaust. forged pistons and rods (shoting for 11.01 com) UDP, and a LSD.
Oh and 2 hiflow cats and streighten the s pipe for a full 2 1/4 in.

I'm thinking of buying a used head and slow have it built. I'm going to the track on Sept 2 to get a few runs in to see where I'm at now. It'll be the first time I've ever ran a car on a real track that didn't do 12-13s.

Stueck, If I'm not misatken the 2.0L 3rd gens run a 4.22 final drive and the MS gears are like 4.30:1.

just a little side note...i've got something sneaky in mind for my transmission real soon. Probably wont make it any faster but I bet top end will be a LOT higher.

I'm like an idiot savant (sp?). Sometimes I'll wake up at like 3am and run out to the car because I've just thought about something. My neighbors hate me because my air compressor runs all night and those pnuematic tools aren't quiet.
