I guess the problem that you run into would be the deck height? Ive been looking for information regarding the deck height of the FS-DE engine and cant find anything so far. Does anybody know for sure what it is? Some Honda Engine Specs.... http://raceseek.com/honda_specs.htm On another note, instead of doing a Honda Engine why not try the BPT? I know most parts are not interchangeable but with some creativity it seems we might have an option, besides custom, for stronger internals. |
grind crank
deck hieght of the honda 2.0 l motor and ours in the 2.0L are very close
you grind the stock mazda crank to honda specs and use connecting rods for a 2.0l honda motor the reason for this is mainy cost , reliability and AVAILABILITY aftermarket is slow to come up with some affordable parts for our motors anyway deck hieght issues are a little more involved then that but i hope this clarifys some info for you reach me at nickkaranikas@yahoo.com from monster pro5 with 440hp |
Didn't corksport try to do a BPT? Or was that a KLZE? One of them was kind of a disaster...lol

Here is a little thread about BPT and 3rd gens ;)

Im not talking about putting the BPT in a 3rd gen. Im talking about grinding the crank to match BPT specs. Like nickkaranikas said availability for connecting rods for our 2.0l engines is tough to find, w/o going the custom route (which costs about 800+). This has really nothing to do with an engine swap more just making the 2.0l engine stronger with diffrent internals. This idea has been around FOREVER, im suprised it has only come up recently to think about doing this. Anyway, I will be in touch with you 440 hp monster ;) to get some more info.

bpt
i can only comment on my experiance with the 2.0l motor from mazda and honda
anything is possible but remember that internal componets like rods, pistons dont know the difference from honda, mazda, toyota etc later from monster pro 5 |
