Possible Different CAI

Guys,

Incase you are interested, here is a pic from my car, not a Protege I know, but we use the same 2.0 FS series engine.. (note the front mounted Dizzy tho)

To get this end result I actually used two CAI kits from different cars, its a shame nobody makes one exactly like this.

The front end (Filter - MAF) is from a kit on ebay for the Mazda MX6 / Probe GT V6, you just drill a small whole underneath infront of the MAF for the Temp sensor (I assume you guys have this)

The back end (MAF - Throttle) is from a Protege kit and needed no mods..

This CAI drops the filter nice and low, without being silly low.. so just thought it may be another option for you.. We cant use the Injen CAI kits like you guys can as out battery is in the way.. bummer.

i think that's roughly where the AEM SRI puts the filter. Looks good.
