Phenolic Spacers?

Anyone ever hear about phenolic spacers... i previously owned a for probe as my main car.... and one of the forum users of probetalk.com was producing phenolic spacers. basically its an insulator placed between the engine and intake manifold to prevant the IM from getting as hot as the engine... therefore reducing intake temps and keeping the intake charge dense and colder... they werent that expensive.. and dyno prove like 3-4 hp/tq from what i recall...

and this is throughout the rpm range not just a peak thing..

ill have to go back to that forum and ask if he would possibly make a set for pretege's... unless the engine setup is completly different..

The Phenolic spacers for a Probe SE 2.0 would fit the Proteges simialr FS engine. The ignition on your probe is basically the only change between the two. I have heard that there are some internal differences as well, but I don't know how legitamate that claim is. I used to own a Probe GT and almost purchased them for the V6. If you were a regular Probetalk member you probably noticed that it was very difficult to squeeze power out of the mazda KL series engines.
