i can't wait to start work on my next project car and start hitting the RX7 forums with some BS...

1967 Mustang GT20B, 3rotor single turbo, 6spd manual, positrack ford 9" rear.....there's nothing like pulling up next to an antique hotrod and hearing it go "brap brap brap" and then tach out 10K rpms.

i'm absolutely wanting to do it. I just have to start actually getting paid for the work I do now!!

i've got the GT already and a local shop here has a 20B for $3500....I figure I'd need another $2500 worth of custom driveshaft, tranny from a miata, suspension upgrades and I'd be good to go.

$3500 ?? Matty, how much do you know about rotaries ?...Why not find a couple of 13b's and bolt one of the housings on from the other to make your own 3 rotor ?? Or better yet just get 1 13b and Bridgeport it....rotaries can make some MAD NA power....Check out www.mazdatrix.com

I thought about that but what you're forgetting is the extra weight of the 1967 chasis! I need something with SOME torque dowlow to get it moving! Besides the 20B is here and ready, a 13B-rew would require a lot of work and be running harder than a 3-rotor would for the same power levels.

Can a Miata tranny hold up under that kind of power output? I recently saw where a guy put a 13B into one, I don't recall what he used for the tranny but I suspect it was either one from a TII or an early ribbed case unit.

A: you're 16, we're not that old, and we all remember being 16. Hindsight is 20/20 and we all realize how much we thought we knew compared to how much we really did know looking back.

B: YOu're not going to make a V6 fit into anything but a first gen without serious modifications. You'd better be rich if you can honestly say money is no object.
This is NOT something that can be done for a couple thousand bucks. Not a chance.

C: Have fun turboing a KL, can't wait till it blows up on you. A high revving NA build up would be a smarter choice with a K series but then again T3RB0 !S TYT# Y0!!

D: An engine swap in a RWD truck is alot different and way more straight forward than almost any FWD swap known to mankind.

E: Us "tuner" guys are probably just as cynical ******** as any other car enthusiasts when we get idiots posting grandiose plans about engine swaps and forced induction and naaaawwzzzzzzzthat we know can't be done without thousands of dollars worth of design and fabrication alone, not to mention the cost of the engine and related parts and labour, yet you''re mad at us because we are skeptical and have yet to see proof from any number of idiots over the years who have made similar claims about "YO MAN, I GOT A 13B THAT I'M GONNA SWAP INTO MY PROTEGE DAWG!! MONEY AIN'T NO THANG CAUSE I WORK AT MCDONALDS MAKING MINIMUM WAGE 3 HOURS A WEEK AND I CAN DO ALL THE FABRICATION AND LABOUR MYSELF CAUSE MY OLDMAN GOTS A COUPLE SCREW DRIVERS, A SOCKET SET AND A SOLDERING GUN".

F: In conclusion, unless you actually set out, and do the work and bring us proof, we will remain skeptical of your success. Now I would like to say that YOU are AN IDIOT and would like for you to take into consideration what I said in my first post.

Sorry guys, I know this was from a while ago, but I couldn't resist.

honestly by reading these fourms ive learned alot about cars and shizzznits!!! As far as that dude talkin about tt setup; unless its a skyline R33....FORGET IT!!! Anyway shopping for a turbo, for my 99 pro has proved to be a pain in my ***(but learning tons of stuff). I wanted to know if its better to get an engine swap and cahnge the tranny to a manual, cause its almost the same amount of lut. Wats the bet engine/tranny i can get for a pro 99 1.6L dohc(lx edition) with auto tranny!!! Any info would be greatly appreciated.

get a manual tranny 1.6L and turbo it...as far as bottom end it's stronger than a 2.0L and will handle more power on stock internals
