The reason for this is for people who Auto-X and things like that, because our stock oil pans suck. The reason for a new one is that with our stock one, people have reported that while turning hard, all the oil shifts to one side and the oil pump has nothing to suck up, thus running the engine dry and killing it! So it's a great thing if you like to take a lot of hard turns and like not buying a new engine due to oil starvation. Thats the explination in short...

yeah, what he said. I heard somebody compare it to putting a lid on that soda in your cupholder. without the lid, you tear around a corner and the soda rises up the side of the cup, away from the bottom and goes out all over your console, shifter, floor mats, etc. The baffles in the pan keep the oil down in the bottom of the pan where the oil pump pickup tube is.

So $400 is msrp on the pans. I'll get with AWR and see if they would like to set up a GB on them. How many SERIOUS buyers would be have at say 10% off ($360)??? Just so I can get an idea.

I wish I could be, but I have a hard time making my mortgage payment, let alone committing to a GB. Maybe I'll buy a lotto ticket!

maybe once/if I hear back from them about pricing we can do a cross-forum promotion on it. I'm sure we'll rack up the required number of buyers between the 3 forums.
