Need 20hp more for P5!!!

Ok, no BS please. Im serious on this. Please post realistic and proven facts/mods to reach that HP. Stock 130HP is not enough, thats giving 96hp i think to the street and I dont need another Toyota Echo passing/pissing me so easy and without any doubt.

Ideas? Flywheel, cams, exhaust, CAI, etc. No NOS or Turbo. Anything we all can get (make the call or order online and pay).

Thanx in advance, Go for it....

do a search, discussed a billion times. you listed the most obvious and answered your own question. the 2.0' actually puts out just over 100whp. fs-ze intake and exhaust cams, cai, cat-back exhaust. if you're having problems with toyota echo's... maybe it's just the driver. auto or 5-speed? head over to the for sale section, there's plenty of parts for the 2.0l being sold in there right now.

Just another shameless plug. My header works well. Do a search. I've posted the dyno results, prices and pictures.

even at $500, Traveler's header is by far the best bang for the buck mod I have seen for the Protege. If his hearder was about $150 cheaper, I would be buying it for sure. In the mean time, I am waiting for the HP header to be released.

any other performance part?

Yeah, I know, I like that header a lot, but considering that I live outside continental US, shipping for that heavy item may be high.

Hey Traveler, how much does your header wheights? Can we make a deal, quote one for me shipped to 00923, San Juan, Puerto Rico. (UPS, FedEx International Economy or USPS).

Any more other mods? im looking for a good deal WITH the high flow cats (dont want check engine lights lit forever).

so far..

As it goes:

1. CAI or Short RAM
2. Intake CAM
3. Exhaust CAM
4. Header (Richie's or Traveler's one?)
5. Exhaust Pipe/Catback
6. ????? One more here!!!!!!
7. ????? One more here too!!!!!!

Then...someone to make a new thread with all the mods available with dynos or estimated hp gain, links and price.

The route I'd suggest is intake (either short ram or CAI), then a cat back, header, then the cams, then some engine management to tune it (piggyback probably). After that all you can really do is get some cam gears to fine tune it. Eventually there will be bored out throttle bodies and larger MAFs for it but none so far. Also, I'm looking into how much room the VTC is taking up in the end of our intake runners. Since the MP3 doesn't have them, I'm thinking that there may be some power there.
