Kartboy VRS B&M

okay so my friend got wayyyyy drunk last night and i had to drive his SubaruWRX back to his house, i go to shift it into first and find he has installed a short throw. man that thing is COOL! driving that car was so easy. So i've decided to get one for my Pro. The thing is there seems to be 2 that are very popular with Pro owners. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion one way or another on the pros or cons of the KArtboy and B&M. any help is appriciated. thanx

I have a kartboy ss and I love it. No complaints at all.

One reason to go with KB is that Tom is a protege owner and member of this club. :)

really? well does Tom give discounts to members of this club? hehehe

I have the B&M and of course love it too...the throws are about the same between the two. I happen to get my B&M before Tom started selling his....BOTH are very high quality pieces.....the main difference between the two is that the B&M is a single one piece design where as the Kartboy shifter is made like our stocker is with the bottom piece welded in place. No biggie really......it all boils down to a personal preference in my opinion...

but one thing is for absolute sure....no matter which shifter you get...get the KARTBOY BUSHINGS!!! they make a world of difference.....I got some after I had my B&M for a while an it made the shifting even better.

I have the B&M as well and have tried both in the P5. I prefer the B&M as it sits a little higher. I found the kartBoy a little too low.

Sota off topic, but while we're talking Kartboy. I put in the SS and bushings. Bushings alone make a sweet difference.

However (and here's the off-topic part), those Kartboy exhaust hangers are very nice. Hard to explain the difference they make, but it is very nice. They just seem to firm things up in a pleasing way especially running hard on a bumpy back road and in the tight turns. Cheap and easy to do.

tom are you the dealer around here? you gotta price? and are you serious about the install ?

Are the KB's any less notchier than the B&M's?

I drove my friends spec R1 WRX with short shifter and that feels so much smoother.

The kartboy I feel is a little notchier than the b&m that I've got. I've been running the B&M for a few months now and it's sweet. I like it. Smoot and it sits higher than the kartboy so it's not too uncomfortable.

You'll see the bushing when you pull the shifter out itself. They're little plastic pieces that are inserted into the shifter.

you can order the bushings from kartboy.com
