How do you get the shifter apart?

How do you get the shifter apart?

I know this is lame, but how do you get the shifter assembly apart? I didn't see a real obvious way and I didn't want to start breaking stuff.

Unscrew the shifter **** (counterclockwise), remove the three screws on each side of the center console moving the seats to get access when necessary. Remove the trim beneath the emergency brake handle, then remove the center console. Remove the C clip holding the shifter bushings in place. Jack up one end of the car and remove the bolt holding the shift lever to the shift rod. Remove the shift lever from inside the car.
