Ye well, too make it short

about 2 weeks ago, a connecting rod in the engine broke..

i have the FP-DE 1.8L engine

but ye, Mazda replaced the whole engine
cuz well the eninge has a 100,000km, 5yr warranty,

and my engine was pure stock, so ye

Now its time to break in de new engine!! can't wait til its fully broken in

 

what did you do to make a rod broke like that??

 

I have no idea how, I do drive it to just before redline a bit, but most of the time when i drive it hard i shift at 5500 - 6000RPM, and i only hit the rev limiter a couple times, when we FIRST got the car, which was along long time ago now!!, i don't hit it anymore

and when it broke, damn, i wasn't pushing it hard at all.... I was just going slow and normally cruising, shifting at like 3000 - 4000RPM, parked, and went into a dance, danced for an hour, and left, when i started the car up, i heard a thumping noise coming from the engine, well i knew it was something wrong with one of the pistons.... but the noise was very faint.... and i didn't live too far away, so i decided to try and get it home, on the way home the noise got real loud all of a sudden, and then a very faint like burst noise came from the engine, and it just went quite, i pulled over , switched the car off, then we rolled it into a parking lot, this is all at 3 in the morning. so i called my parents, my dad came to pick me up

we took it to the dealer, and cuz i'm completely stock, and they said it wasn't my fault, and the engine just went.... so they replaced it under warranty, the 5yr, 100,000km warranty on the engine.

Something went through the block, so they replaced the whole engine with a brand new one, everything free, no costs at all, the only problem was not having the car for a week. but its back now!!!


EDIT: oh yeah this happened at roughly 75,500km
