AWR mounts

Has anybody tried the mounts from AWR?

Curious about install and vibration.

Thanks.

I have tried them on my SE-R. They weren't made by the same company, but they had the same urethane in them. They produce a bit of vibration only at idle and only if you replace all four of them---one mount won't make a bit of change that you can feel.

Keep in mind the amount of vibration is subjective. Suffice it to say that I hate vibrations. I once took my car back to a tire shop 12 times to have them rebalanced before they were right. On my SE-R, they make some vibes at idle but not enough to shake my mirrors or anything. Rev the car to about 900rpm and I feel nothing. I am thinking of raising my base idle speed up a bit to offset it. Then again, the vibes aren't that bad, so I doubt I will.

That pourable urethane is the way to go, I am telling you guys. If you were close to me in Ohio, I would do them for you.

Hey thanks! I have to give thanks to the guy in the picture, Ben Davis of the SE-R community as he is the one doing the pouring. That's my arm holding the dogbone (front mount).

There is another option. You can go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc and buy a product called 3M window weld which comes in a tube---like a tube of caulk. That stuff needs to cure for 48 hours. I have been told that it's a bit stiffer which is good if you are doing hard launches, bad if you don't like vibrations at idle. Don't get me wrong, it won't shake your fillings loose but there will be a slight shake. Keep in mind, this will only happen if you do all of the mounts. You aren't going to have that problem if you only fill the front mount.

Good luck!

As long as the outter edges are intact, you can fill in the missing area in with that urethane. In fact, you can run the car without that mount for a while--I did on the SE-R for 500 miles. I didn't even know it had fallen out!!!

If you need help, I would be more than happy to do whatever I can.

Thanks!

If the edges are still there, you can fill in the gap. I wish you were closer, I think I could handle it--no problem.

Good luck!
