Not to sound like too much of a jerk. And I know I will catch hell for this... I would trade it in to the dealership and not say a damn thing about the transmission (obviously take it to a different dealership than the one you had it serviced at). If it is not a noticeable problem you will probably get pretty good value. Just my evil they can afford it more than you philosophy there.

I know this is a very old thread but I am having the same problem now. I also have a 99 Protege LX A/T. mesx7828, if you still read this forum, what did you end up doing to fix the problem? TIA.

I have a 1999 protege LX 1.6 automatic It hesitates at speeds of 30 - 40 mph. car will get to 30 or 40 mph and then the tachometer will raise to 4 rpm before shifting to the next gear. it will do that from 30 to 35mph. Tachometer will be at about 2 1/2 - 3 before hitting 30 -35mph then it will hesitate and tachometer will raise to 4. then it shifts into the next gear. Feels very bad. Mazda dealer are very busy here in florida try many times to get it check out. Maybe I can take it to another place, like a mechanic. any suggestion?:mad: |
