clutch mod for my mitsu

hey guys, I need mechanical advise for my other car. A mitsu eclipse.

i came across a clutch assembly that is riveted together, that is: the pressure plate, floater, and flywheel are riveted into one unit. Can i take it apart and bolted back together? This clutch setup is usually found on a mitsu eclipse and dodge neon/ avernger.

any help or advise would be great. thanks.

No. This is know as a modular unit. DaimlerChrysler is the only company that uses this kind of set up. And since DCX has a great deal of influence at Mitsu then they use it for the eclipse as well. They only way that you can take this apart and put it back together is if you can tap the holes in the flywheel after you get the rivets out. Getting the rivets out is a very compicated job if you are trying to salvage the FW. Why do you want to take it apart? Finding a new disc to put in it would be tough since this is the way that they are sold in the aftermarket. Except for one place that I know about. If you are looking for a performance clutch with an aluminum FW then go to www.dialaclutch.com. If you have any other questions let me know. If it deals with the powertrain I can most likely answer your questions.
