Cheap CAI from E-bay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ME:B:EOAB:CA:6

Installed it last night. It is exactly like the other CAI I've seen, except the no name filter, (seems decent though.)

Considering it was only $55, compared to Injen and others are way too expensive for my budget.

The pipes are polished steel and most of the fit and connections where good.

I didn't use the hose for the PCV as the inside diamiter was greater than the stock connection.

It was supposed to have two rubber sleeve and hose clamps that went on either side of the MAFS, but they only sent one side.

Yeah, cheap mod!!!

Only thing I noticed with my Ebay SRI was that under hard acceleration it struck up against the brake master cylinder.. I'd be watching for that... I came up with a quick fix.. but it still struck it... I couldn't get it not to.

This is a CAI, so the filter is in the wheel well.

Yeah, I've heard about the cone rubbing up against the master brake, it could tear it.

Considering this is the first e-bay CAI I've seen, it worked out pretty well.

I gave the guy a Neutral feedabck, and said he should be more carefull that all the parrts are included with the shipments.

no.. Im not talking about the filter itself... my tube from the TB to the MAF strikes up against the master cylinder body for the brakes.

What, the metal tube does?

Thats wierd, I guess the part that came out from the throttle body wasn't long enough? You fixed it?

Damn e-bay products, you figure they would test it on a car before they sold it...LOL

my Ebay SRI works very well....it looks pretty good also. Mine came with a nice filter so I'm happy....my AEM on the other hand is not pleasing me now.

Yeah.. it even dented the tube.. but if you felt it and looked at the inside of it... it didn't do anything.. I just took one of those pads that people buy for furniture to put on the legs for hardwood floors.. and put it there.. and it works flawlessly...

I chose to get the Typhoon cause its both a cai or sri depending on what you want... so I can change it as I feel the need. <shrugs>

I ended up tying this bigass rope across my engine bay from around my passenger side headlight to hold the ebay intake from hitting the master cylinder. I'm embarrassed t show people and its fricking ghetto as hell but i couldnt really think of anything else that would keep the intake from hitting the master cylinder. The braces that came with the intake were crappy flexible pieces of metal that didnt do their job, so i had to upgrade to rope

Hey Myk, did you get the CAI from Revzo Racing on ebay? Silver couplers and stuff? I'm also missing one of the couplers to the MAF, and have been emailing them about it. They said they haven't had anyone else complain, but they'll check with the manufacturer in Taiwan and see if they can get an extra one sent in their next shipment in a month or so. I said BS! I'm waiting to hear back from them again, but if they don't send me one in the next few days, I'm going to dispute the charge on my CC, I refuse to put up with sh@$ like this.

By the way, what did you use in place of the missing coupler? I used some masking tape just as a temporary solution during some testing, but am looking for another alternative.

03ES.... when I needed one a while back.. I went to a shop that sold intakes.. and AEM makes replacement ones.. like.. 5 bucks or something.... so... I'd just try and see if you can locate a shop who carries spares.... worst case... I can get ya one and ship it to ya if you need it. Cause I have a shop around here that carries em.

Thanks, I'll check with the local rice shop here in town... although if you're wing doesn't stand taller than you the guys there seem to act like asses.... I really hate giving them any money. Oh well, I guess I'll suck it up this time.

I got it from trivision auto.

I went to the plumbing deparment in the local hardware store and got a rubber coupling with a hose clamp at each end.

Yeah, I had mine on with duct tape until I got to the hardware store.

Always have duct tape in your glove box, just in case
