CAI install...
 

it came with no instructions!!! does anyone know how to put one together? geez people...

need pics of what you have to help you....if you want you can call me and I'll walk you through it but I'll need a picture of all the included pieces.

and another thing, the stock air intake has an electronic device on it....ditch it when installing the RAI?

OMG so easy..should go like this..the silicone elbow/reducer goes on the tb,then the metal straight with the bung..silicone hose goes from the bung to the one on the valve cover...then another silicone adapter to the MAF(NO DONT DITCH IT!!)..then another silicone adapter to the 45..then you slap the filter on the end of that...tighten down all hose clamps and reset the ECU...woila!! you've just installed a Short Ram intake!!! :wave:

The stock air intake incorporates two 'electronic devices' that are essential to the proper operation of the engine. One is the MAF sensor which measures the density of the intake air and the other is the IAT sensor which measures intake air temperature. Since the air intake density and temperature determine the amount of fuel to be injected at any given moment in time, in order to maintain the correct air/fuel ratio, data from these two sensors are sent to the PCM (also called the ECU) which controls the injector cycle. The O2 sensor also inputs data to the PCM to modify the injector cycle but since it is located in the exhaust manifold it's not a relevant issue here.

As macdaddyslomo pointed out, it's essential to retain these sensors in any aftermarket air intake system you install.

actually 3 sensor blocks...although one is just supported by the OEM rubber tubing....

When I installed my CAI I didn't reset the ECU. Should I now (it's been about 1k miles) or would it have adjusted already anyway???

I'd say if it's running well, you don't have to reset the ECU at this point as I'm sure by now its "learned" the new parameters of your intake.

Looks like a SRI to me. I have pics of my Ractive... Don't have a web link to it so I'll PM it to you.

Ok I got it now! The pipes are flaired out at the ends like the one Eggy has. The mass air has a bigger diamiter than the pipes do, thus making the cupling that thay did send unusable anyways! BASTARDS! Any ways if any one has any Iders let me know!

looks like you're missing some of the rubber couplers...they're supposed to go around the MAF and the pipe. You may be able to pick some up at an auto shop or make your own out of rubber hose.
