some guy found me on aolim and told me that OBX is making headers for the 1.6 liter, i am sooooooooo happy, i hope i wont have any problems finding an exhaust system

I called them up today. Maybe the person I spoke to was the cleaning guy or someone not very technical. He said that the 1.6 headers are still in RD ti'll next month, and that the headers will be for the 2001 and up Protege. I tried to explain that the 1.6 was only available for the 99-00 Pros and that the 1.6 has been discontinued.

I will try to call up tomorrow and hopefully speak with a tech.

I'm guessing they will be shorty headers, won't this mean that it won't make much diference anyways. The price looks good though, SS $299.00 and the ceramic version $249.00.

Great news. I'd love to get some headers, even if it only nets a few horsepower. These engines need all the extra HP they can get!

 

well keep me posted on the headers wars. i dont want some shitty headers and waste $$$. anyways, please explain to me about getting custom headers.... where could i go and just basically tell me what would go on...

I'm the guy who IMed dafoo21... I live near gainesville florida and there is a import store here in my town and they deal through OBX and he was the one who told me about the 1.6L header..

 

check out this link...they have them on their website already...looks like were good to go!!!! part # is h2016 i think

It looks like they still have the 1.6 as a 2001 and up.

I have called them for the 3rd time about this year thing and they still do not understand.

How about someone call them up again and ask. Maybe they are sick of me calling.

why does it matter if they put 2001+...there was a 1.6L in the 2001 that is exactly the same as 99-00 model...as long as it fits....so is it done yet or what?

 

so what do us 1.8 ers do?
