hey i got a 1998 black mazda protege lx

its got a erebuni body kit , 17"white rims , weapon r intake , i redid the back lights for now but im gonna change them again , green streetglow under car kit, front and rear strut bars dont no the brand hayame exhaust , pionerr headunit , pioneer inside speakers a 1100wat splash amp with 2 12 kenwood tornado sub i just ordered a new spoiler if i can ill sho u the pik of it what it looks like is the terminator 2 spoiler with out the second deck look ssomewhat liek that , clear corners , custom dyed dash bored , green indaglo pedals.

future plans _ get a custom box that will have 3 12 alpine type r subs with alpine amp ....alpine dvd indash player and if i can throw on 18" on the protege ill try to put up piks im gonan have to wait bc i hae most of the stuff in my room because i bought it all during the winter and goign to wait for the spring but ill put up piks of the kit...

 

which engine do you have? and is it manual or auto?

 

i believe its the 1.8 and its automatic im kinda mad that it i tho couldent find one in stick

 

just be thankful you have the 1.8L most of us have the 1.5 and although its a great engine the hp sucks it comes stock 92 hp and there is almost nothing to upgrade it, without doing very expensive custom work that doesnt' tend to give a lot of hp. I'm sure that you can get the gm25r (i think that is the number) manual tranny for it, it is one of the better ones mazda produced and works with the 1.8L engine.

 

a 1998 lx didnt come with the 1.8 liter. Only the ES had the 1.8

you should have the 1.6

 

ight my mistake then i waent sure but somone told me that i had the 1.8 o well then i got 1.6

 

i don't think the 1.6 was used in the second Gen in North America it would be 1.5.
If he's in Canada, and its an LX then it might have the 1.8

 

dam this sux thought i had a 1.8 then ehh 1.6 but now 1.5 dam mabey thats y i had to custimize my weapon r intake lol o well still a great car tho

 

actually there is a 1.6L motor in the second gens , just not in the US or Canada ,, if you look into it , you would see the guys in the phillipines have 1.6Ls and 1.5L's and 1.8L's with the last one being the rarest ......


what country are you from ,, I see it says fair Lawn , but I don't know where that is

yeah im 18 and from new jersey i got ma protege december of last year its fun workign on it just for the sake you dont see many second generation proteges by me to i decided to get it and work on it piks will be up as sonn as my body kit is doen being custimiced by that i mean the side skirts i didnt liek how thelooked to i had my car guy work on it and change it

 

Yeah if your from jersey ,, u have a 1.5L unless you have an es .. then that is a 1.8L .. shoot i am from new york , u know there will be a meet this summer in kent ct. I went to the one last year and we had fun , maybe you may want to come ...
