midnight...hope I didn't come across pissy, wasn't the intent.

torpedo...we're talking about engines, not cars.
Compare a 1.8 4cyl to a 1.8 4 cyl, not a 1.8 4cyl to a 3.0l v-6

The 1.8 B18b is out of the garden variety LS non vtec Integra.
If you want to throw a Mazda 6 comparison against an Integra, make it the B18c5 equipped Integra Type-R. It only has a 1.8 4 cyl but produces a pathetic 190 hp versus the 220 made by the Mazda.
Then how come the ITR will beat it at 0-60 and be neck and neck at the quarter mile. And you better hope it's not on a road course because the ITR will trounce the 6.

The Proteges counterpart in the Honda/Acura lineup is the Civic. Want to compare those?

Hmmm maybe your right.... but I meant the 626... not the 6 lol. I thought the B18 wass a 2.2l.

The B18c1, B18c5, B18a1, B18b1 are all 1.8l Integra engines ranging from 120 hp to 190hp.

The H22 is a 2.2l out of a Prelude.

This is why F series Mazda Engine are > all :)

F2T = 145hp/190tq

I hate I4's in general. If you're gonna spend the kinda monet it would cost for a honda swap, just drop in a KL-ZE. 200 hp out of the box and a much higher potential.
