gen2 1.8 Spark Plug Wires
 

Recommendations and experiences? I'm at 40k miles so I'm guessing the OE ones are going slowly. How much should I pay? The reading at Magnecore seems reliable, so I am leaning a bit to them. Thanks!

Magnecore makes excellent spark plug wires. They are more expensive than NGK wires, and may be overkill for a relatively stock engine. Just make sure you get something that doesn't use the same carbon core that the stock wires do.

Hi, if i change my spark plugs and wire's to performance one's, do i need to put preuim Octane gas in instead of regular??

You would not need higher octane gas. The stock plugs are fine, however it maybe worthwhile to change the stock carbon core spark plug wires, if you get something that doesn't deteriorate like the stock plug wires.

so in other words, a waste of money unless i add a Charger or a NOS system.
which i don't plan on doing.

So what you are trying to say is all those 1000bhp dragsters can run with those crappy autolite spark plug wires for 29 $ that seems odd to me ?

everytime somone tells me to save a few buck its costs me hundreds in repairs, all I was trying to say is I don't mind spending money on something that has a lifetime warranty on it and rocks too. In the past autolite spark plugs wires haven't lasted me an entire year but that was on different a car too. But those are going to run 45 bucks so why not buy magnecores for 65 and get a better wire ?

There are a huge variety of wires out there. The main things you have to consider are radio noise and compatibility with factory systems. If you use wires that are just a twisted copper with a jacket you may have problems because of the radio interference they give off. They tend to interfere with factory electronics as well as make it hard to listen to your radio. Unless you like having an audio tach. Really the main thing is to just be sure you buy a quality set designed for your application.

I keep hearing all these great stories about wires making horsepower but all you need to do is get the voltage to the plug. There is no such thing as 'quality' electricity. Either you have the current and voltage or you don't. Most modern ignition systems will damn near fire a spark plug in mud anyway. The main thing you need to worry about for performance is decent quality plugs and the proper timing for the mods you have on your engine.

i just installed some ngk wires yesterday, then mounted my system. im getting horrible feedback in my sub now, now when i eject the cd and the stereo cuts off, i get a really loud feedback, like my sub is going to blow. its a low hum that gets really loud really quick unless i turn the radio on. never happend before and i can't make it go away. any ideas? i am running a 600w crunch amp to a jl 12. its running off the stock deck, through that rca adaptor thingie. i am going to take it all apart tommorrow and put it back together tommorrow and see what the hell is wrong, but i can't figure it out! do you think it's because of the plug wires? why would they be that much different?

sounds like a bad ground wire to me. But then again I'm not an experty either. The new wires are just enhancing the bad ground

Hey i'm thinking about getting some bosch +4 spark plugs and was wondering if any of you knows if these are any good and if they are ok for my 1.5 L engine. any help would be great.

So the platinum plugs that claim to spark more won't help my engine at all or increase gas milage?

I would have to agree with most of the people in here. New plugs and wires won't give any more performance than you haev already. I just changed my spark plugs, for under $8. I got a set of Bosch Platinum. Nothing fancy!

vtech ,, makes wires for our protege , They are like 100 for black and 130 for the colors .. they are pretty cool and in 8.5mm
