My 1.5L cylinder head is in my basement...

Hey guys..
here's my story

i planned on doing a 1.8L swap this summer
came up a bit short on money, so i cant do it yet
so i decided to do it next summer

well, my 1.5L is running 115psi of compression in cylinder 1
and 210 psi in cylinders 2,3,4

i did a leak down test and it showed that something is wrong with my exhaust valve

so myself and a few buddies and my bro spent today removing my head...

so right now i have my head, intakemanifold, and cams sitting in my basement....
and its going to cost me about 800 dollars to get my car back up and running in peak condition
with me doing the labour myself
that includes a cylinder head gasket kit, oil, oil filter, coolant, getting the head rebuilt, and replacing all drive belts

by the way, i live in canada

so anyways, this has gotten me thinking really hard...
do i even want the 1.8L?
like, i already have a lot of the difficult part done with the 1.5L

would it be worth my time and money to get some cylinder head, and cams, and intake manifold work done? and jus forget about the 1.8L??

i figure i could get about an additional 25 horse with some head work, some mild cam work, and a port and polish on the intake...

or is this just going to reduce my torque even worse than it is now, and waste my money?

what would you guys suggest i do?
i would appreciate any input

thanks

not sure how much it would cost to do all that stuff you want done just for an extra 25... and that wouldn't even get it really even with the 1.8L engine when the 1.8 is stock.... then wth the 1.8 you can just buy better heads.. headers ... cams.... ect. to make more hp instead of having it custom made.... then there is the turbo issue if you want that... 1.8 already has one... 1.5 must have one custom made.... personally i'm sticking with the swap
