Ok...will the 1.8l alternator fit the 1.5l??? Cause from what I have read...the 1.8l alt has 10amp more!!! I don't know if that would be a big difference but hey a little more is a little more!!!! Also what would be the best size alt to put on that would fit and give me more amps???? Or should I just get a CAP????

You could always pull your alternator, go down to Autozone and compare it to a 1.8 alt.
Or buy a 1.8, get it home, pull the 1.5 and if it doesn't match, return it.

 

i think changing the alternator is VERY hard(aggrivating) on the protege...when i thought i had to get a new one i was stressing out cause i didnt wanna mess around with it...so id find out before buying and trying it out...

 

Yea I wouldn't want to take it out either..cause from what I understand you have to take out the starter to get to it and it is on the bottom side of the car....so I think I will be waiting and seeing if there is another route to go!!!!

 

Fair enough...I'll go down to the auto store and ask for one of each and compare the two. I'll report back later.
