Hey guys... please don't bicker and bitch. It's not fun or all that amusing to the rest of us, especially when I'm looking for information, not complainers...

At anyrate, where can I check into getting a GTX motor for my 4WD? I would really like to do this, so I'd like to see what I'm going to be needing to do this. By the way, Thank you all for the information you have given me; protegeDX, thanks for the link; that has been one thread I've been looking at.

A GTX engine could be found from www.corksport.com You can also check out www.barelylegaltransplants.com Branden will be more than happy to help you out and although I've never dealt with either of these places, I am pretty sure that the second one mentioned will be of more help to you. You can also keep checking Ebay, but I wouldn't rely on that.

As for what you'll need. Check this link out:

So, I was thinking last morning as I was driving home from work that wouldn't it be cooler to drop in the GTX motor and do the GTX conversion, then give the car a lift and put some big tires on my 4WD Pro.... How's that sound, or is it even workable?

'Course I'm serious! *LAUGH*
No, really, wouldn't it be cool to see a Protege going 4x4in' and high off the ground? Bet it would be the only of its kind! I could get a front grill made to put on; give it a 4 inch lift, put some truck tires on, huge offroad lights, nerf bars.... Hell yea!! Would be like a powerful jeep that looks like a car.
(dreaming here, not really serious...)

I would love to see that! Like that guy in Chicago who did that to a Delorean.
