protege/miata rims interchangeable?

are the rims from an early 90's miata compatible with '90-'94 proteges?

i've got the opportunity to pick up some cheap miata 14" alloy rims from a friend to upgrade my stock 13" steel rims on my protege DX. is the lug pattern the same? what about the offset? what's the largest 14" tire i can put on the protege (i know the LXs came with 185/60R14 stock).

our bolt patterns are 4x100
miata rims will work. not sure about the offset.
rims from a civic or crx will work too.

Re: protege/miata rims interchangeable?

I would go for it. I have an LX, and I got Miata rims on it right now. They fit perfectly, and it drives FANTASTIC!!

I doubt there's any difference with offsets between the DX or LX. ANd there's no problem between the LX and Miata. Sorry I don't have any hard numbers to give you, but I would 100% recommend that you get the Miata wheels.

Oh, and my brother used to have Acura rims on my/our Protege, which had 190/60/14 tires. It drove fine...you just feel a very slight difference (smoother ride, slightly slower turning response). Effect on the speedo/tach was negligible.

Good luck.

all the 4 Miata rims and Protege Rims are interchangeable...they have the same offset and lug pattern...biggest you can fit would probably be a 195/60/14 without throwing off the odometer too bad
