newbie trunk question!

Sorta a dumb question...but

I have a '93 DX...

Is there a way to tighten the torsion bars or whatever on the trunk? Unfortunately, my apartment parking space is on a slight incline, even if I put the trunk all the way up, BAM it crashes down on my head....I think I've lost about 20 IQ by now, hehe. (j/k of course I hold it up, but it gets annoying.)

Thanks for your help!!

I have the same problem...I tried changing the torsion bars with ones from another protege, but it just does the same thing. One thing I did notice though: one time I had the center piece which contains the license plate off, and the trunk sprung open like it was brand new. I thought about maybe putting some counterweights on the hinge, but haven't really played with that idea yet. Lemme know if u find a solution.
