MAF adapter for aftermarket filter

I have seen mass airflow adapters that bolt up where the stock air filter attaches, but allows the connection of cold air tubing or an after market filter.

1. Does anyone know the manufacturer and part number for the adapter made to specifically fit the Protege?

2. What is a good source for silicone air duct tubing of various sizes?

1. you can get the Adapter with a filter off of ebay cheap. some performance racing shops may sell it, but ur gunna pay more for it.
Mine cost me about $36 shipped off of ebay.

look em up.

2. I still have stock tubing, jus took off the airbox and some of the air box piping to fit the intake. custom tubing doenst make that much of a differnce for performance or sound. Jus looks better. IMO

very easy to do.

Thanks. I understand you can get it on Ebay. How do you know if the adapter fits? Many of them are universal.

I am not as concerned about where to get it as the part number and description so I can go get the right one anywhere.

Someone must a have a description of the one they used that would include the company name and part number or model so I can identify it is the correct one.

I'm pretty sure the adapters are the same. I think mine said it was for 90-94 when I bid on it. I didn't have any fitment problems. I can check my reciept though. The adapter itself doesn't have a number and it's just a cone filter. You're not going to beat getting them both for $28.95 shipped to your door though.

Tradesonice has a lot of neat things but their adapters are made so that the round and retangular passages connect abruptly.

Had sume neat stuf here, but I didn;t find adapters.

I did find this:
The smoothed bore adapters are here:
http://www.compassmotorsports.com/

These adapters are welded and smoothed. Should flow better.

$38 each under the Escort parts heading.

dont buy for CMS

dont buy from compass motorsports because people on the escortracing message board are having a lot of problems with getting their products from the owner. the owner has been very loyal before but recently he just hasnt been shipping out products or answering any phone calls. stay away from cms
