Unhappy Loose gas pedal

My gas pedal moves from side to side a little when it's not pressed down. Is there a way to tighten this because it's really getting annoying. It's hard to sense when I'm pressing just a little on the gas because of the freeplay. Thanks in advance.

lmao, bruce, be more specific . basically, if you look up under your dash, the arm connected to your accelerator pad is attatched to the car in three points. from top to bottom, there is a spring mechanism that provides the spring back when you let go of the pedal. then on top of that, there is a pivot point, and on top of that there is the top of the arm where the throttle cable is attatched. look at it carefully with a flashlight and see where the accelerator arm is lose. if it's in the pad itself, the pad could be worn out or the weld on the accelerator pedal/arm has broken lose and needs to be replaced/rewelded. if it's the spring, you might have to replace that, and the same goes for the center pivot point. but if the loseness comes from the top, you might want to tighten your throttle cable. most likely, i'm thinking that your spring is still working, just that something came lose on it. it's more of a question that you yourself can answer better than we can, good luck.
peace
