I picked up the #194 license plate replacement bulb (I went for the long life version - I hope that was worth it)
I've tried to get in to the bulb housing by prying with a flathead screwdriver wrapped in an old shirt. But the plastic cover isn't coming loose easily, and I don't want to snap it in half.

Anybody know the right approach here?

You've got to get to it from inside of the trunk, just look on the bottom of the lid and you'll see right away where the socket is. Just twist and pull.

 

Wow, that was easy. Thanks. Good thing I didn't manage to get the plastic cover off with my screwdriver after all. Now if only the 194's would work in that socket like the book at Schuck's and my Chilton's manual say they should.
