"does anybody knows how much stock 1 gen pro 1.6 SOCH LX runs on 1/4 m???"

I know someone running a KIA Sephia w/ the 1.6 SOHC and he's running high 20's low 21's so you'd probably be running around the same. Don't feel too bad i know someone with a Hyundai it was running 22's but the guy put a T3/T4 (I think thats what it was, or a T4) on it and is now running 15's with an auto tranny. He did have to spend almost $3000 just to build the motor up before he could turbo it. But I'm running a SOHC Pro and run Mid to high 17's with a slipping clutch.

I thought that there wasn't that much of a weight difference between the 323 and the Pro maybe a couple hundred pounds?
If so 300 pounds isn't going to make more than a half second difference in your time. A General rule is for every 100 lbs it will take 1/10 off of your E.T. So see what LX's are running with the same motor setup and take a few tenths off their time, that should be what you're running. But there might be an exception because the gears are taller in the SOHC trannys so your E.T. Might be around the same as the Pro LX's.

2.25" is awful big for a NA engine, I would've gone for a 2" with a decent set of 4-2-1 extractors.

Talking

If a civic wants to race anything faster than a 1.6 stock protege, he's the one who will need help.

I have a stock 94 dx protege base (weighed in at under 2300lbs) and with my GTECH I got mid-high 16's the one night I was trying it out.

The location I used for the runs gives me pretty accurate results, since I used to GTech 14.7-14.8's then take my car to the track and hit 14.8-14.9's and one or two 14.7's (my Probe GT with bolt-ons before the engine swap)

So if a SOHC 2300lb protege can hit a high 16, a <2200lb 323 with a DOHC should be at least in the high 15's low 16's

I don't see how you were hitting mid 16's w/ a SOHC i think you're the first to do that with a stock SOHC engine. Most of the DOHC guys are running 16's.

DAMN !!!! DAMN !!!! when i posted this i didn't have my bp swap until 4 -5 weeks after. I didn't know what to expect on this engine. Now that i have the engine. Running stock i felt like its faster than my 14.8 sec. civic (b4) i havent tried it on the track but i have race couple of civic with sohc vtec and i dust em like 3-4 cars away...like i said im running stock. and this civics got the basic bolt ons like exhaust. intake ,wires, headers...Yesterday i got my pacesetter headers, magnecore wires, and hopefully i will be getting my rx-7 maf soon. I ordered that too but it takes a while for homeboy to modify it. but its cool tho. Right now my car is running rough at idle i had to raise up the rpm to 1k at idle cuz i cant stand the vibration going on. i cant figure out what the heck is wrong with it but hopefully this week end when i have time i'll install my performance parts and fix the idle.

About the guy who's running 16.6 thanks! u prolly dont remember but u help me out on the swap (via email) THANKS!
Im pretty sure i could run mid 15's with all the bolt ons that i have
and sure hope that Sacramento raceway got a good sea level... thx again.........

No problem bro, I'm glad you have your car running, Check the injectors, if they are not sitting right they'll suck air and cause a rough idle, move them around.
Make sure you get a good clutch, Mine has been sliping for a while now. I'll try to get better 1/4 mile times after I replace it.
Till next time...

Really I hit one 16.6 and another 3 or so passes were in the 16.8 range. Keep in mind I weighed my car in at 2271lbs the other day at the truck scales and I have LOTS of racing experience so I can scavenge whatever little hidden potential my SOHC may have (the fact that I don't have a tach actually helps since I'm most likely shifting into the red first to second and maybe third to fourth ... shhhh )
It also helps that this car dosen't have enough power to keep spinning through all of first (unlike my probe which I'm lucky when I can get traction before the end of second )

What's going on, i just used the stock seat rails. I had to drill another hole on the rail, but that'll probably be your best bet. The rails that came with the seats were gonna be hard to put in the pro because of all of the contours on the floor. It would've been alot more work. As for the seatbelts, i just cut 'em off 'cus i'm gonna add some 4 point harnesses in a little while. I really like the seats though they hold you in place alot better. I've actually found myself taking turns faster with more confidence. I know they don't add to the handleing, but when you take a turn at 35 and slide halfway to the passenger seat you kinda wanna let off of the accelerator before you lose control.

I said mid-high 16's
Yeah, but still if the DOHC guys are running 16's in the proteges, the 323 isn't going to be that much faster if it's only 100 lbs lighter.

Yeah that's true cause the 1.8 L DOHC engine is a lot heavier than the little 1.6 SOHC. After the swap, I don't think my car weights a lot less than a Protege LX.
