Loundarp :
Yes I got a DOHC in the 323 5 speed with a cat back system as my only modification, besides the RX-7 AFM with the protege spring (instead of the original RX-7 spring) that gives tension to the flap door inside the Air Flow Meter. oh and my cone type air filter ofcourse.

PseudoRealityX:
It's good to know about the fuel presure regulator, I always had my doubts about it. Then the bored throttle body, I'm gonna take your word for it. The clutch I defenetely need it. The one I got is still good for every day driving. I'm gonna star looking for another gearbox too. Mine has pass 340,000 miles in it. As you'd understand it is a little noisy !!

I was surfing the Corksport page and found this:
Cork Sport peformance camshaft set
The Cork Sport performance cam set are brand new camshafts not regrinds. The specs are .352 lift and 205 duration at .050 lift for both intake and exhaust. The estimated gains on a mildy modified motor are 12 hp.
Price: $ 425.00
Speed is expensive !! But like it !!

It should be noted that he did that at LACR. 2710 feet above sea level. What that means is that you lose about 9.5% of your HP compared to sea level (only with a NA engine, or a turbo that is flow restricted at sea level, like a VJ-20 at 20+ psi).

Applying the track published correction factor, he's running 16.146 @ 83.4mph, but I think the trap speeds always seem a little low there (or maybe they are high at other tracks).

i was realy happy wen i see this time. but i did some weight reduction. i removed rear seat, front seat, spare tire and half off tank of gaz. the only thing i had done on my engine is advance timing at 14, put a new stock air filter and removed the S under the filter and my cluch is not in good shape. need a act clutch

here the time slip, i'm number 15

That's a good question, I was thinking of taking the car to a weight station and find out. It says on the door that it weights 3,300 lbs. I'm gonna put it on a diet, including my self !!

The non-spectacular 60 foot makes that 1/4 mile time and speed all the more impressive. My best (at LACR) is a 16.753@79.746mph, with a 2.379 60 foot. Corrected, that's still only 16.2 @ 82.4mph. I didn't remove anything other than the spare, though. My Protege probably weighs about 2700lbs with driver (2475 without). I'd imagine the 323 is at least 200lbs lighter.

GVWR

The weight on the door is GVWR, which is max allowable weight including car, passengers, and cargo. You would have to subtract weight capacity to get curb weight.

it probably won't cuz it SUPPOSEd to hold no more than 200hp, BUT this li'l car is so underated that i dunno if i should go by that. later i'ma upgrade the tranny, the weakness someone told me is a certain pin that they makde it weak, i know a guy who changed the pin on his thunderbird's mazda G tranny like ours, and put a u brace and is holding 260+ so i'ma get him to do it, if not i'll get a GTX/GTR tranny.

Corksport has the JDM's for 250. really sweet.

If you can get into the egroups of Protegetech.com goto photos and carlos's 94 hybrid, i got the pix there, i'm working on a site to post all my pix on. or gimme ur addy and i'll send em to ya. i don't know how to post pix here. less ya'll can tell me.
