fastest 1st gen?

whats the fastest first gen Protege known right now? I'm just thinking out of curiosity, but being that they're in the low 2k weight range, I think they could be made really fast really easy, but not sure what motor to start with. Since I'm just kicking around ideas right now, I thought of a turbocharged JSPEC V-6 from the 93-97 MX-6, but I dunno if it'd fit being the larger engine. What engine swaps have been done?

Do a search, there's lots of info here on engine swaps.

Saying, "not to be an ***" does not disclude you from being an ***.

How is 15.7 slow as stink? You got some serious issues there 'Steve-O'

Im not being an ***.... but you say that 15.74 is the "fastest n/a time" makes me want to burn my 1st gen. Thats just slow compared to the all-motor times on ALOT of other cars.
I mean...75% of newer n/a cars run 15s/16s.

What is "You got some serious issues there 'Steve-O'" supposed to mean? Because I think that 15s and 16s are slow? It is slow....the only car I have that runs 16s is the Protege....not syaing i dont like it..i love it..great car..good gas...but im not gonna act like its fast....not yet anyways...

Wow steve... why dont you post times of your car... what are you high 17's. for a NA build up the 15 range is good. i got an idea smarten the **** up! (strike 1)

lets create a worthless post, where you bitch and complain about how slow someone elses car who is obviously faster than yours. (strike 2)

finally lets post something which proves your ignorance, "turbocharged JSPEC V-6 from the 93-97 MX-6" this engine does not exist. and if you want drop in performance you would research a GTX/GTR swap... (strike 3)

If i was running 15.7 i wouldn't claim to be the fastest n/a protege out there.
I would just say mine runs 15.7 n/a.
Actually, there's a guy in an MP3 running a 15.5. I never once claimed that 15s was FAST. But before the MP3, it was the fastest anyone knew of. Maybe there's a faster Protege, who knows? Maybe there's a guy who can run faster than the guy who won Olympic gold, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't make himself known.....

No, a 323 is a small hatchback, the Protege is a small sedan. But go out and rip it up anyway. Anyone putting forth the effort and making things happen is cool in my books. A side note though, I'm heading out next month, and I'm lookin for a 15.3...as long as I get traction, I think I can do it.

Nothing hardly...it was my DD....good MPG..reliable...I had not really tried to do anything in the "performance" aspect yet because the car is not made for that IMO.

But yet you want to argue...some more...when I have already said what I wanted to say.

Protoss....what part of my post did you not understand??? Do I need to write it out in crayons for you??? And dont put words in my mouth, I didnt say anything about a MX3 Engine.

My car is also my DD and it's just as reliable. Don't be a hater because someone has goals with their Protege, and are putting the work into it that you can't do....
