Not a bad price except for shipping would be high as hell.

You're leaving one important factor out. It's not a 1.8 liter. It's not a 1.6 liter. It's a 1.5 liter. In other words: no power.

yeah....yeah thats even to low for me to go..........i would never sped the money to put a 1.5 in my car even if it had a 1.5 previously....id get the best available.....at least the 1.8

correct me if im wrong....

did the 1990-94 proteges "any model" even have a 1.5 or 1.6 in it? ive got the crappiest 91 dx.....manual without even a dam tach.....and its a 1.8

Mine's littler

I have a 1990 SE with a 1.8 SOHC, yeah, S-OHC and I think that's the littlelest....but I'm compensating.

For 50 bucks it is a steal. With no engine 50 would be a great price.

I have to admit, 50 bucks is 50 bucks. For example, if there was a Protege in perfect body condition inside and out and all it had was a blown engine, putting this one in and selling it as a daily driver for the average Joe or Joanne makes sense. However, that's rare so he has to sell it cheap because of the low power. Most buyers are looking to upgrade what they already have. I guarantee you, there's someone out there that would buy that engine in a heartbeat but doesn't realize it's up there for sale right now at that particular place(ebay).
