well thanx for all the info u have given me. I might make a web page that has step by step instructions on how to do the swap. I will just have a video camara record the whole thing.

 

i gotta 90 323 with bpt im also running the 1.6 tranny with axles, got the 1.8 axles in the back of the car as i type just pulled them this morning from a JY. got the 1.8 tranny in the garage waiting to be put in, cant wait cause act clutch goes in as well yay.

 

wich Mazda cars had the bpt engine in them.GTX? GTR? years, models.Thanx

 

the bpt came in the GTX and GTR models for the 323. Came only in first gen 323 as far as I know. Years 90-94 I believe. Anyone know of any others, correct me if IM wrong.

I plan to go with a BP and turbo it eventually. There has been alot about the NA head and how it is alot less restrective. Just do a search.

Ok i have been looking for some engines and trying to get a good price for a good engine. Where did u guys get your engine and or do you guys know where i can get a good deal on one. Take note i live in cali so shipping may be a prob, or not. Thanx

you can usualy find them cheaper out of an escort gt or tracer.
check out BLT, bearly legal transplants, they might be close to you.

 

what racing clutch kits can i youse for this swap.

 

just get a act one, dont bother with centerforce if your going turbo, trust me.

and just to let you guys know i got a BPT from a local engine shop for $650.

yup i got there and asked for a mazda BPT engine and they are like. "rotory right". I'm like no 1.8 4 cyl turbocharged engine. Then there like "what u going to put it in". My 323. Them "is that hard". Not realy if u know what u are doing. Those guys did not know one thing about that engine.
