93 protege won't start

Turns over fine, just won't fire off. Worked fine in the morning, wouldn't start in the afternoon. There were no problems leading up to this.

Plenty of gas. Is my next step the fuel filter or injectors? Where is the fuel filter?

we need about 500% more information on the car and it's maintenance history.

You can't properly diagnose a vehicle on so little information.

No fuel pressure. it might be bad fuel pump relay. Can you hear the pump running? or no ignition spark, - it could be a bad coil. DME problem or bad arm. try also looking at dirty connections, clean everything. - this are the most common reasons why car won't start. give us an update of what other things did you notice...

Replaced fuel filter; fuel pump works okay. I was thinking about the coil. Guess that's next on the list.

Maintenance: My dad had the car, was careful to maintain it. My nephew had it for a couple years after that, don't know how that went (but I can imagine--probably not too well). The car has 175,000 miles on it.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'm sure I'll be back. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I have more time than money.
