was this on factory rubber? what kind of tires? This guy could have one hell of a gem on his hands. I've heard that engines can have +/- 5hp straight from the factory...

16 flat in a nearly stock protegeLX/EGT IS possible:

ScortAdict, 95 EGT 5-speed: only mod is 14 degree advance in timing, he runs a 15.951 1/4th @ 87.54mph, heres the timeslip:

http://members.rogers.com/ssavoie/drag_slip.jpg

Neumanspeedescort, (one of the fastest nearly stock ones that i have ever seen) his only mods are advance timing, cone filter(just filter NOT full intake) no A/C, no rear seats, 140,000+ miles on car, and here is his timeslip. left slip is 15.591 @88.44 / right slip is 15.611 @88.16 and here it is:

http://www.deadheaddyes.com/neuspeedresults.gif

and if i find neumans other slip from when he went to the track the first time i'll post that one as well... he ran a 16.04 his first night out

RX7_2nr: yes someone even from your own list, his stock 5speed DX SOHC with a whopping 17 less HP than the DOHC ran 16.6 STOCK at the track (which is what a lot of you DOHC guys say your 5-speed runs) heres his slip:

http://www.anzwers.org/free/omegaisgay/timeslip.jpg

while this isn't 16 flat, it just goes to show your that 1/4 times are pretty relative in relation to the driver/condition of car/ etc...

i could post more but im to damn lazy right about now...

i ran a 15.592 @ 88.44 the weather was about 55 degrees at eh hottest. i mean i was in a fleece pull over and was still a bit jittery. but then again the jitters could have been adreniline. i ran it with these mods:

14 degrees advanced timing
no rear seat
no a/c
no spare tire crap
civic short shifter
195/50/15 street tires at 26 psi
open air filter (not full intake)
borla bro-speed muffler just welded to the stock exhaust
140,000+ miles on motor

that is it no more no less

NEUMAN

i can beat 2.4

i remember i felt happy when my 94 dx beat a 240sx it was cool. my pro is all stock except for a custom intake. i run high 15"s with a rebuilt motor and tranny. so 16 is not as fast as it should go.

Talking

Civics aren't that fast at all. Even Si(R)s. But it sure is easy to make them go fast.... I haven't had the honour of beating one yet...I seem to never find them when I'm cruising...I've beat lots of Integras though....

I'd be willing to travel a few hundred miles if he wants to meet at a dragstrip.
