i was just wondering if im the only one who hears "that car cant be fast, its just a 4 banger" or "fords suck"
now keep in mind, it might be worse for me, kuz i have a 91 EGT. but everyone who asks me "what kinda car do you have" and i say a ESCORT they seem to laugh and think its some piece of crap grandma car....until they make the mistake of seeing me on the road then they seem to realize that its not what they thought (mostly kuz they get blazed in thier civics and J-bodies)
all in all, im just wondering if you 1st gen protege drivers get played down as much as us escort (gt) drivers.

 

Oh, yeah, lots of domestic guys say my car is slow because it is a "4 banger" but they havnt seen my car in action, theyve only seen it in a parking lot... of course there are a few ppl who have said i will smoke their *** but there are alot of ppl who take crap about their cars...YOURE NOT ALONE!!

OK, now ive got a friend of mine with an old V6 Camaro talking **** to me calling me a slow P.O.S....lol

 

well u have a auto dx dont u... so tech. it is a slow car

I got it up to 110mph yesterday i dont consider that slow with it being a 1.8 4 cyl..auto..

Just because you can beat econobox civics and hit 110 mph doesnt mean the car is fast. Just means it will go 110 mph

 

My CRX could run 143mph... that doesn't mean it wouldn't get beat in the 1/4 by a faster car that has a lower top speed.
