1990-94 Mazda Protege Clear Corner

I have a 1994 mazda protege and i have invested a lot of money making it nice. I live in Puerto Rico and there are alot of people over here that love mazda 323 and protege. I have been looking everywhere for some custom clear corners for my car and i want to know where can i get some, because i have been seaching everywhere in the web but noone sells them.I have seen about 10 protege and 323 with custom clear but they dont say where they got them. If anyone know were to get them please email me ASAP at marvin23mj@yahoo.com. Thanks

mazdprotege94 December-23rd-2003 09:33 PM

ok, we are talking about real clear corners, at least I have that alredy also here in the island a couple of people had adapted accord clear corners and alteza light but I want the real clears for protege 90-94. HELP!!!!

mazdastyle2003 December-24th-2003 11:51 AM

what year accord?

mazdprotege94 December-25th-2003 08:14 PM

90-93 accord also I have a friend that has adapted the projectors from 97 mirage 4dr with minor mod

fst323 December-26th-2003 06:49 PM

true clear corners for the 90-94 Pro/323 do NOT exist. a few of the guys from this forum and the 323 boards had some custom made back in April, but afterwords, the guy quit making them. as far as i know, he wont make any more. i did spot a picture this morning on the web of a 90-94 Pro with the 97 Mirage projectors with the same year Mirage clear corners. if anyone would care to enlighten the rest of us.....

mazdastyle2003 December-26th-2003 11:42 PM

what kind of mods do u need to do to fit the mirage prjecters and corner lights

fst323 December-28th-2003 08:55 PM

i believe GroHarlem did a How-To on this. someone post a URL please...

They do exist, but only in Japan. They will only fit european / japanese spec lamps.

marvin23mj January-2nd-2004 03:42 AM

I want to know where can i get the clear corner for the 90-94 protege the ones that you just shown, the ones from japan. Is there anywhere in the web that you can get them at? Please let me know ASAP.

Protoss January-2nd-2004 10:16 AM

if you get the j-spec one you will need to also get the e-spec headlighs, the clear corners for the j specs are larger than the usdm onles.

you cant get clear corners. i'm sorry they dont exist anymore for the usdm headlights. you have to troll the for sale sections on all the protege boards to see if some sell their custom clears. there are only about 20 in existance. and yes i have a set but they are not for sale. the last set that were on sale went for $100+

marvin23mj January-2nd-2004 02:58 PM

I know that if i get the j-spec clear corners that i would have to get the e-spec headlights, but all that im interested in is where can i get the j-spec clear corners. if anyone knows of such a place please let me know. Thanks

just to clarify, those are not true clear corners either. there is still an amber lense inside the outer clear unit....

have fun shelling out $450+ for an overseas headlight assembly for a set of "clear corners"

mazdaboy1974 January-7th-2004 11:12 PM

i like to know how the accord lenses mount up or if i have to redrill holes to mount them. they really need to make clear lenses foe 90-94 proteges and 323s hell they make them for everything else how did we get left out that sucks.

marvin23mj January-8th-2004 04:55 AM

I have to agree with you, we honestly got left out and yes it really sucks. If anyone out there knows where to get some clear corners for 90-94 proteges/323 please share the info.

mazdprotege94 January-8th-2004 08:41 PM

We should call APC to ck how many we need to order so they can make them. somebody told me that if you order 100 sets they should make them I am sure we are more than 100.

If someone can only make the clear glass only then that would be simpler and cheaper.

skr33t_rac3r January-8th-2004 09:05 PM

hell yeah good idea dude

good luck

the last group buy had hella interest but few people put their money where their mouth was.

skr33t_rac3r January-9th-2004 07:28 AM

but thats because it was too much if it was cheaper then more ppl would pay

mazdaboy1974 January-9th-2004 11:08 PM

well i would probally pay b/c there is not a lense on my car that is not cracked faded or discolored . and around here trying just a junkyard replacement is next to impossible like 90-94 323 taillights no salvage yard around where i live has them and new ones are expensive. so if we could cet cooler ones cheaper or more im all for it

fst323 January-9th-2004 11:27 PM

TYC makes OEM replacements for the Pro/323 corner lenses. if you look on their website, you will see them. i wonder if we contacted them and asked them to make 50 with a clear outer housing, if they would do it?

marvin23mj January-10th-2004 01:08 PM

clear corners

sounds like a good idea, but whats their website so that i can email them or tlak with them directly to see what they say about it. Im still open to more ideas on how to get clear corners for 90-94 pro/323, if anyone knows please let me know.

fst323 January-10th-2004 05:18 PM

the web site is here.

the product numbers are 18-3042-00 and 18-3043-00. it would be so easy for them to make the lamps with a clear housing on the outside. i wonder why they didnt before?

mazdaboy1974 January-10th-2004 09:44 PM

well after i get the motor swapped and interior redone my next task with the 323 is either bodykit or clear lenses after that bodywork (yuck!) then finally paint i hope. but with the color i want clear all around lanses would look alot better than red and amber.

mazdaboy1974 January-10th-2004 09:59 PM

I went to the TYC site and left a queston for them maybe it will get the ball rolling and if everyone would do the same maybe we could get someone to make us some clear lenses

this is what i wrote them.............................................. ............I have a 1991 mazda 323 and us in a mazda forum are wondering if your company could make clear lenses for 90-94 mazda 323/proteges turn lights and tail lights

fst323 January-10th-2004 10:51 PM

i like clear corners because it accents the headlights, but i dont know about clear tails. i think that would look pretty ricey, but thats just me. :D

mazdaboy1974 January-16th-2004 12:50 AM

fst323 January-16th-2004 07:13 AM

anybody good with plastic?

Pro2Go January-16th-2004 08:23 AM

I'm thinkin about trying this once I get the time... what can I use for a sealant that works well?

Greigers-Gen 1 January-16th-2004 02:07 PM
