From what I have been researching intake wise, is that a 95-99 non-turbo eclipse intake will fit our cars. Probally the SOHC better. Just look at the angles the intake has from what would be from the throttle body directly to the resonator box so you don't lose the 4 pounds of torque that other people usually do when making a custom intake on their Pros when they take their resonator box off. All that it looks like you would have to do is cut the mount part off and maybe just a little bit at the end of the pipe. Also you will need one more coupler for the pipe to connect to the resonator box.

would be awesome if someone wanted to try it out. From just looking it seems like it would be a perfect fit, if not just a tad long.

well, there are many things that i'm contemplating about our intakes. personally, in stock intake setups we're talking the intake will heat enough where it's too hot to touch... basically just because of the heat radiating off the engine, and i've driven long enough distances and delivered enough pizza in the last 7 months to know, that over long distances and long running times, everything inside your engine bay will heat extensively. a heat shield for your entire intake would not be impossible to fabricate and could be done with sheet metal used in HVAC systems.. the only person i can remember doing this was mazdaspeedwest... so his input would be paramont in this situation.
as far as the eclipse intkake, you'd have to measure the lenth between the throttle body and the resonator... or the air flow meter on our cars to know specifically. even if the approach angle isn't that ideal, the flexibility of rubber adapters is limited in my opinion.
personally, i decided to just give it a shot and purchased an intake off of e-bay, and after much debate, i'm gonna give it a 50% chance of working.

the point was brought up that this ebay intake that i purchased was actually 3 inch tubing and wouldn't be as beneficial as a 2 1/2 inch intake, but what the hell i figured, better than stock, right? i don't even see with this intake if the resonator is eliminated, how the cone filter is mounted or anything. so all said and done, i might have gotten screwed out of 50 bux, but at least you'll learn if it's worth it. just hang in there and wait for my posts.
peace
