installed kartboy shifter, wow

i just got done installing the kartboy shifter that i got on a group buy with mp3wannabe. wow! this thing rocks. i measured the old shifter and the kartboy, and the kartboy is 3 inches shorter. i'm sure everyone knows about 5th gear in our cars. it's way too long of a throw, and way too far to the right side. whenever someone's in my car and i put it in fifth, i rub their leg for a second when putting it in fifth, they're like, whoa buddy, what was that. yea, not anymore. i definetly recommend this shifter. it took me about 40min to install it, super easy installation.

Sweet..... post some pics if you can as I want to see how it looks. As for rubbing the legs of the passangers when going in 5th.........in some rare cases this is definately not a bad thing. Maybe Mazda had something in mind when they did this?

I believe you can grab a leather mx3 shift boot, not 100% sure though.

It is a Momo Anatomico (I think) shifter ****. I think it looks close to the original with a leather wrap. It feels much nicer though!

does it have the nice little thumb spot on top? (kinda hard to tell in the pic) I have the Super Anatomic, had it for like 10 years, i love it.

Looks good, i'll have to look into it.

cool

how hard was it to instal?

Did you do it yourself, or did you have it instaled?

I want to do it myself, but I have heard horror stories about how you have to basically pull the engine.

Correct me if IM wrong.

wtf? people who pull the engine to isntall a shifter are retarded. all you gotta do is remove the center console, pull the spring that holds the shifter in place, undo the bolt at the end of the shifter linkage under the car and it comes right out.
