This is my first post here, glad to be here! ^^

I'm going to keep it short. I just got myself a Mazda 3 Mk1 from 2006 with the 1.6 litre petrol engine.

So as it isn't equipped with AUX i got myself an FM modulator. It works great until i turn my engine on. when the engine is running, there is a distinctive crackling sound coming from the speakers, that when i raise the volume on the radio, gets louder. The rate of the crackles is dependent on my engine RPM. I've read many articles regarding this issue, I think it might be something regarding the ignition system and it's called ignition noise. First I thought it was my alternator, but from what I read, that has a specific whining sound.

Anybody had this specific problem and solved it?

I would appreciate any suggestions, and would prefer cost effective problem solving as I am struggling a little with financial stuff lately.
