i finally saved up 6000 dollars for my gt-r / dx sohc engine swap but i dont know if i will need a gt-r engine harness or can i use my dx or an lx harness. And can yall recommend a good but inexpensive ecu or ems.

i researched this a while ago, I think that
you can run your lx ecu but you won't have anything higher then 6 psi boost.

best thing is to get the ecu at the same time.

Haltech engine management. Best there is. Its around 1 g tho.

hes right, with $6k you can get a gtx engine for a $1000, get a n/a head and port/polish it, get a t3/t4 turbo, turbo back 3" exhaust, gtr intake manny, rx-7 vaf, intercooler and more and have more power than a gtr.

I don't think the DX or LX harness will work. I am not 100% certain due ot the fact that I received the GTR harness and ecu with my engine and had a friend modify my GTR harness with some wiring from the LX harness to make everything work. As far as an ecu, the only one you could run is a GTR ecu, if you can't find one (you will have a hard time finding one) you should go for the Haltech stand alone system.

How about putting that turbo on the BP motor? If that would work out, that would be something I would consider doing in the future.

With 6k, you can make a really really powerful BP-05 Turbo. Get a sick engine managments system, a really nice turbo and you will knock the socks off of a buttload of cars.

after doing some more research i am now thnking of doing a head swap on my dx engine with the lx head, only the head because the dx pistons are lower compression than the lx (turbo cars want lower compression). I am also thinking about reenforcing my stock pistons (high boost). Is the gt-r/ gtx turdo manifold the only one that can fit our cars? will an eclipse manifold fit?

Anymore advice is welcome.

You don't want 8:1 compression. I'm about to bump my compression from 9:1 to 9.5:1 on my turbo Pro with different pistons.

Get the Pro LX motor, build it up and put a turbo on it.

pseudo, in case you didnt know high boost in a cylinder chamber that has high compression is very dangerous. Under these conditions rods are thrown. This is the reason that stock turbo cars have compression rations like 7.9:1. But, thanks for the advice, I think.

i still want to know about any other turbo manifolds fitting our cars, and I also heard that the Escort Gt has a limited slip tranny that will fit, has anyone ever tried this? will it work?
