i'm gonna try to remember to bring the camera and take a few shots of the car on the dyno. I've never been on one, so it'll be an interesting experience.

its already advanced and running 91octane, to what degree of advancement, i cannot say, it was done by feel
i think i'll pop in a fresh set of plugs and maybe even wires...but plugs for sure, oh and an oil change...

I may even cut a piece of tube to replace the Hbox and run it with & without for comparison...

What's the cost per hour for the dyno? I'm trying to find someplace decent in the Chicago area to do this.

$40 for 2 runs, but this is a special Dyno-Day event. I'll ask what regular prices are for your comparison.

Totally unhappy about results

Well, i must say right off, i am very unhappy with the results. Although one good thing came about it, is the fact my engine needs a shitload of tuning.......i put in some new spark plugs to find oil in cyl 3 & 4...really bad in 3, not so bad in 4, but BAD either way i look at it. cyl 1 & 2 were just fine.........

2 very impressive Sentra SE-R turbos blew me away......

400WHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

one was at 15psi and the other at 22psi. The 15psi dude has been up to 500WHP. The 22psi dude, was running a STOCK block.

Ummm, late model supercharged 6psi Maxima pulled 240WHP
supercharged Solara (??psi) put down 195WHP
1.6L Sentra SE-R (headers, intake, full exhaust) pulled 100WHP

Oh and the most suprising was the BONE STOCK 99 Accord with 130WHP?

Sentra SE-R (cams, exhaust, intake, plus internals) pulled 155WHP

Ok so what did i get your asking............????

you'll find out tomorrow when the embarassment wears off a little and i have a chance to scan the printout..........I really have my work cut-out for me now.

Dyno Results

It just opened my eyes to the fact that i've spent so much time with these add-ons, that i have neglected the overall picture and having them work in unison, as well as keeping a MUCH better eye on the engine....
In the mean time, i plan on a much better fitting and functioning intake system and getting a few oil leaks taken care of....
i think its coming very close for one of these:
1) complete rebuild (cams, pistons etc..)
2) BPT swap
3) KLD swap
Which ever will be most cost effective of course and whether it will be for drag or autox will have a large part on the decision...

Anyway, here are the results...no not THAT bad, but still disappointing to me.......

Hey, it looks like it was getting better with each run! You should have kept going.

heheheh, ya seems heat has a part in it too, the higher the heat, the more power....up to a certain degree though i'm sure....

i didn't have the cash or tools to keep going i would have wanted to tweak a few things. I am happy to just get a baseline. I wanted to run it, just how it sits right now. Now that i have this info, i have a much better idea of what the hell is going on and what to do next...

Whats next you ask........

well, i have 3 options:

1) BPT swap
(lots of work in the tuning department, also lots of work in the FMIC department, plus it may be the most expensive)

2) KLD 2.5L V6 swap
(not as much work in the tuning dept, but requires more than just an engine...axles, rotors...)

3) BP rebuild present engine
(again, not as much tuning involved, but requires pistons, cams, port&polish of head, intake manny and TB+ more...)

i am still in the research phase. Cost will be a major factor in my decision, as will be my racing choices (drag/autox) although either set-up can be good for both...

I'm so undecided at the moment...my immediate plans are to fix my oil leak (looks like the valve cover gasket) and make a new intake....unless Gary has his done like real soon.......

i agree, the BPT would be sweet as hell....but i'm not sure if i'm up to the commitment of the constant tuning....

Very true, but at the same time, it would take me awhile to come up with 5 grand to get all that crap in there....

Of course the V6 or N/A rebuild will run about ~3 grand, but still better than 5.....

I dunno dude, once i have the cash, i'll be like eenie, meenie, minee, MOE! and go with it
