And They Said It Couldn't Be Done...

....well, I'm the type of person that says, with a little dedication & determination, you can accomplish anything. Well, as a few of you already know, I have the sub/amp rack from the MSP. Well, I currently have the rack mounted on my cargo floor. look s cool, but doesn't really work for transporting cargo...or groceries etc, as everything usually goes in the backseat nowadays. Well, thanks to Barry (Jackelope) and a quick look in his trunk, I noticed that I might be able to mount the amp/rack in the back of the P5 just like how you'd be able to mount it in the sedan version. Now, there's other options, such as mouting it directly to your seats, BUT, you lose 60/40...not very appealing...so this will be the route I take.
Enjoy my genius...and if you've already done this....kudos to you also...but please let me bask in my glory.

See? It just goes to show, a little ingenuity goes a long way!

FWIW, the bloody thing looks like it belongs there, no vibration, does not move at all...nice an solid...just need to power her up and see what it sounds like. As you can see I have the one that works on the floor still...I need to replace the 8" on the other one.

Well...that was just a dry run...so I'd see if it worked or not. I'm going to install the one that currently works on the brackets, then I'm going fix the other one (replace the sub) and figure out what to do w/that one. I thought about mounting both (one firing up, the other firing down, but it won't work). There's a girl here that has a VW Cabrio, it'd work perfect for her needs...maybe I'll sell it to her.
Anyway, once it's up and installed, my trunk is back to normal....tada!

ha ha I pawn3d you Ms. Walters! But it's all outta love! LOL

so, how does it look with the hatch down? how much of the rear is left un-covered?

good work, btw.

It looks great...you can't really see in the rear because of obviously illegal tint but it sits just about where the rear cargo hatch flap piece would actually sit. Someone would not be able to see what you have on the cargo floor. I'll try and snap a pic when it's sunny out...all you can see (when you cup your hands and really look in) is the *Kenwood////////////////////////450 Watt* decals.
If I think it's that huge of a problem, I may remove the decals and mount them elsewhere.
Thanks Chris!

I dunno - mounting the amp under the d/s seat & building a box as a false floor worked out really well for me - i only lost a little of the storage/functionality...

Ah ha...except so far i spent $20 on this. Your false floor probably loks a hell of a lot better than mine though!
