Lightbulb Spark Plugs?

I had put some BOSCH platinum spark plugs in my car while back and I had been runnin 93 octane for a while and my bro said if i ran 93 for too long it would foul out the plugs..i was wondering if this had anything to do with my mileage? or is it just the cold weather..any thoughts would be appriciateed...Could it be time to replace them or how often should they be replaced?

two things, ive hurd that the best plugs to use are NGK, and that you need to use the lowest octane that your car can use, proteges are designed for 87 octane using 93 is going to make it harder for the fuel to ignite. the only point of using higher octane is to avoid knocking its not to improve performance as many people think....i know im horrible at explaining but im sure someone will help me out....
