Official Summer Meet
 

Just to make it an official meet I have to start a new thread. I need everyones input on this.

When: to have it?
Where: (I suggest the Assiniboine Park Zoo Parking Lot)
Time: ? (Afternoon?)

AND TELL EVERYONE FROM OUR CLUB. AND ALSO CAN EVERYONE PLEASE SHOW UP. NO MORE EXCUSES - THAT'S WHY WE'RE PLANNING EARLY.

ok rey im in for assiniboine park and my idea for a date is somewhere around june 29. what about if we went for the afternoon meet and bbq idea again. and stop being a jerk and email me back already. i'm getting the car back from destination today so i will be good to go.

Im up for that. the best would be any day except on weekends. also any day after june 29 would be the better cuz ill be done school.

hey since you guys are graduating this year maybe you could give old man rey some spelling lessons. i think the logo is pretty sweet though, with the right wording of course. lol

I'll try to make it out. I don't normally go out anymore on sundays for cruising as I find the entire night is just too frustrating.

Lately, me and friends wind up at the park on Sunday nights to play soccer or football or whatever.

Let me know when the meet is and I'll make an effort. :)

I signed up for the NX Express NOS system that Pony is giving away on the 29th. It's not going to be installed but it would look cool just to have the bottle sitting in the back seat. I will be there when ever the give away is but I would love to meet up with you guys after.

I might be handing out our WPC stickers if it gets made by then.

I know we have more people in our protege club but since last I have'nt seen the others. I know the USUAL members would show up (protogt, chrono204, Soma, Phu, Rod, Miguel, and even Tim). I know we have more than 10 members.

At night we can do the Sunday Cruise thing.
Everyone It's not and Canadian Tire or Bestbuy parking lot no more... We will be meeting at the back of Perkin's parking on CRUISE NIGHTS...

I will be emailing everyone about the meet so everyone is notified. :wewant:

I should be there. I don't do the Sunday cruising thing anymore, but I'll show for the zoo.

Is it the same time and place? I showed up last time at 4 (was out at the cabin and came in later than expected), and no one was there. Still meeting at A Park zoo parking lot? Where do you guys meet on Portage as well, been looking for a couple of weeks to see more than two pros strung together.

Okay...I finally broke down and decided to join this Forum.

Howdy all - any other MSP owners out here?

there is another msp owner but he does not have the internet. he is usually out with us on sundays however he is away for a couple of weeks. have you made any mods to the car yet? i've heard that using any kind of boost controller and running about 9-10 pounds will make some pretty good power and is still reliable. welcome to the site. see you around

No, no mods as of yet. I'm currently in a holding pattern until MCI comes out with a ECU patch/update.

Sure 9-10, or 11 you'll see signifcant gains, but there's that whole "Warranty" issue to consider. This is my daily driver, so realibility is important. If straight-line speed was that important to me, I probably would of purchased a quicker car. Handling on the other hand is one of tha major reasons I purchased it.

If you really want to test out your handling, you should come out to autoX your car! I've been driving my MP3 out at the events for over a year and have done extremely well...would be nice to see more Proteges out there.

when and where is the autox? Is it near the downs? I would like to check it out, although I can't really compete (but I so want to) until I stiffen the car and add a cold air or short ram on.

It is near the downs yes. Basically you turn right off Portage at the lights where the road to the dealerships are. Keeping going past there, take a small bend in the road and there's a gate off to the left(just after it becomes one road instead of 2 separated ones). Just go in there and park a bit away if you are just spectating. For the record though, many people run their cars completely stock...in some ways it gives you an idea of where you really need to sink money on mods. I say try it out stock and just see what you think...it's great fun!

Welcome No.5. Glad to see some new proteges out there. You should come on out for a sunday cruise sometime and check out the other rides. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Also, where did you buy the speed from...and are you the guy i saw at the Wave car wash? Or the guy i saw cruising down Pembina a couple of weeks ago(at night)?

I've been out twice so far on Sunday nights this year. Not that much, since I'm usually busy the other times. When I'm out you'll usually spot me at Advance parked beside my buddie's '73 Yellow VW Bug...can't miss it.

Could of been me you saw, then again maybe not. There are 2 other Spicy owner's other than me in Wpg. The 2003.5's are starting to hit the street; I saw one parked downtown which was purchased from Gerry Gordon's Mazda. It already had a dent in the rear bumper :eek:

Questions...sure will, but I spend the majority of my time within the www.msprotege.com Forum, so I probably won't be that vocal here. But it's good to hang out with other Protege owners in Wpg...

Nope can do until Mazda fixes the ECU; my car stalls. :(

Do you park downtown? - Grey 2003.5? If so did you dent your bumper.....I think I've seen you numerous times.

Actually come to think of it, there's 2 Grey 03.5's parked downtown. One purchased from Gerry Gordan's (sticker still on back..this one has the dented bumper). I'm assuming the other is from Gim G. on Regent, since I knew they had one, and the dealership sticker has been removed.

Good to see you join. BTW - how are your rear bushings? - clunking yet? And, experiencing any Stumbling/Hesitation?

Yup, same here. I'm away camping this weekend, so I won't be around until the 10th either.
