your best bet is to buy 14" winter tires with rims it's going to come out to be the same price, I was going to do the same thing, i got a price for the 16" winter tires and it came to about 550$, and that's not including the installation and balancing so it was close to about 600$, but then i went and got a price from a place my buddy told me about and he only charged me 500$ for 185/65/14 including the rims, installation and balancing and installed on my car. The smaller tires are better they cut through the snow good, and I also get to keep my stock wheels in good shape and save some tire tread.

I ordered some 15" steel rims from my dealer for a really good price of $50 CDN per rim. I now have winter tires on order but they will not be available for 4 to 6 weeks. Hope they come in soon as winter will be almost over by then :D.

From what I have read the factory alloys don't hold up to well with the snow and crap on the roads so I figured I would save the rims and the tires. This way I can extend the life of both.

I finally bought some 14" rims with TOYO's tires ... I was scared for the look, but that is not so bad with blacks rims !

Just can't wait for the heat to come back so I can put my alloys back  !

no offence Vpower but that's alot of money to spend on winter tires, I spent on 500$ and there probably just as good as the pirelli's, and you know your just paying for the name, I got some no name brand, I don't remember what there called but there made in sweden and there pretty damn good.

Catchme: no offense taken....

it's just a personal choice....btw....your brand must be like maloya.....made by vredestein....
probably i paid for the name.......but as long i didnt try another kind of tire on my car.....i cant tell you pirelli are better or worst.....

since it's my first winter tires on my p5.

Nokian NRW

Hi,

I just put Nokian NRW 195/55R15H this tire is amazing, I can't almost notice that I'm on winter tire.

The rim cost me 45$CAD each (at dealer) and the tire cost around 155$CAD each + installation

This tire can handle snow/ice/slutch and can even handle hot temperature (ie changing temperature in winter, we sometime get near 15 celcius in the begining of winter here)

I love my tire... The car handles like it was on 16" (okay... there is a little difference, the thread is way more deeper than summer stock dunloop tire, it's a winter tire)

Northamerica Nokian call that tire a "all wheater" do not read a "all season".

I now just waiting for a good snow to fall to test them in snow... If it's like my old Hakapellita I (on my old civic) it will be amazing!

I recommend that tire, it worth every penny.
